My name is Racquel Harrison, and I am a relatively new transplant to the Southwest. My husband, my four children and I have lived most of our lives in extremely COLD and SNOWY climates, so the warmth and sunshine of New Mexico is a welcome change.
I am an avid reader, outdoor enthusiast and sports fan. Basketball has been my favorite sport for as long as I can remember. I am THAT person that yells and screams at the television during games, has no voice left after the games and I have been known to schedule my entire life around March Madness.
I saw a wheelchair basketball game live for the first time a little over a year ago. Since then, I have learned alot about the history of the game and how it has (and has not) evolved over the decades. I am convinced that now is the time and New Mexico is the perfect place for us to jump into the arena and become a part of the game. I believe in fierce competition, blood sweat and tears, shameless ambition, aggressive perseverance and in being boldly adventurous. I am excited and grateful to be a part of the Road Runners organization and to have a front row seat to see what is next in the evolution of adaptive sports and Chairball!
